”If you will, God will!” What does this statement mean?
Answer: If you will believe in Jesus Christ, God the Father will make you a part of His eternal family. After your death on earth Jesus will take you to heaven, the Father’s home, to live with Him in perfect joy, peace and love forever.
- John 3:18-20 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
[Editor’s Note: All humanity are born sinners because of the first man’s sin; Until and unless they are born again with the Spirit of Jesus Christ, they continually practice evil.]
- John 3:21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
[Editor’s Note: This is why Christians are generally persecuted. Jesus Christ is inside of them and the world hates Jesus and His Light because His truth always exposes evil and darkness. Jesus Christ, the Light, still exposes. Jesus’ truth and light falls upon all people. When Jesus’ Light exposes the heart of a person, he/she will either run from or will run to the Light.]
- John 15:20 [Jesus said] “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.”
What happens when you believe in Jesus?
If you believe in the unique Son of God Jesus, God the Holy Spirit has already granted to you the Gift of Repentance.
[Editor’s Note: Repentance is the recognition that it is impossible for you to undo your guilt and sin through any personal works or deeds of atonement. This causes you to recognize your hopeless condition apart from a Savior outside of yourself and makes you cry out in your heart, “God be merciful to me, a sinner!”]
Belief is your portal to receiving an infinite number of Gifts from God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The first of these gifts would be the gift of Repentance and Faith. Immediately follows an innumerable number of gifts which include love, joy and peace . These gifts are given to you through the birth of the Spirit of Christ in your heart.
- Acts 20:20-21 I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks [non-Jews, Gentiles], repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Your chains of guilt and fear will be broken. You, at the moment of new birth through belief in Jesus, have been removed from the kingdom of darkness as a child of satan and immediately translated into the Kingdom of Light as a child of God.
This new birth is accompanied by peace and joy which passes all understanding. You are now free from the Guilt of your Past and free from the fear of your Future.
You no longer “run from the Light of Scripture / Truth / Bible“ but want to run to the Light and be fully EXPOSED so there is NOTHING in your heart that condemns you. Yes, you will also be given the gift of a Sensitive Conscience so that when the ugly old sinful nature infects a word or work, you will be crushed immediately and run again to the Light as quickly as possible seeking the assurance of forgiveness that comes with trusting that Christ’s work was totally and completely sufficient for all of your past, present and future unChristlike choices.
Truth: You [all people] enter this world ALREADY CONDEMNED! There is NO accounting or ledger kept to determine if one day you will be “worthy to enter heaven“. You were born into the world ALREADY JUDGED because you were born into the world as a human being who hates the LIGHT. You want your will, your way and timing above everything else and you do not want your CREATOR to rule over you in love and righteousness.
You were born NOT BELIEVING in Jesus Christ: Because of this truth you were born already sentenced to hell WITHOUT REGARD to whatever deeds you do in your life on earth.
The glorious Good News is that YOUR SENTENCE can be reversed! You can change your status from CONDEMNED to UNCONDEMNED and forgiven. Your sins will NEVER BE BROUGHT UP AGAINST YOU AGAIN.
Your “sin slate” will be wiped totally clean and made spotless. In place of your sins, which
were wiped from the record, the very righteousness of Jesus Christ will be written. No greater trade in all the universe can surpass that supernatural loving Gift made by God conditioned upon one single choice: “Yes, I BELIEVE!”
- 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him [Jesus].
How does this supernatural change take place when one belonging to the kingdom of darkness and a child of satan, is brought into the Kingdom of Light and becomes a child of Almighty Righteous Holy God?
- John 16:7-11 [Jesus said] I will send Him [The Holy Spirit] to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
When the LIGHT [the Truth about Jesus] shines upon you and the Holy Spirit convicts you of sin, righteousness and judgment and you choose to BELIEVE Jesus is who He said He is, the unique Son of God, you are born again! Jesus paid your debts of sin on the cross. He was buried and raised from the dead. He ascended to the Father to prepare a place for you. Why? Because Jesus loves you and wants to spend all eternity with you.
All of humanity face only two choices when the LIGHT shines upon their darkened hearts: 1.) Run towards and embrace the Light [Jesus Christ] in faith and repentance, or, 2.) Run from the Light because you love your sin.
Will you be a “Martha”?
- John 11:21-27 Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She [Martha] said to Him [Jesus] , “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Will you be a “Peter”?
- Matthew 16:15 He [Jesus] said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon [Peter] Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
- Matthew 19:27-29 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
