And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” - Luke 23:42

What is the uniqueness of the salvation Christians believe?

Share Article

Many religions talk about salvation and paradise. What is the uniqueness of the salvation Christians believe?

Only in Christianity are men and women promised to be made children of Creator God and to spend all eternity with Him as His children forever. The uniqueness of Christianity, to us, can be sweetly summed up by Jesus explanation of our relationship to God the Father and how we NOW have the incomparable blessing of relating to Him as our Father.

– Matthew 6:9-13 [Jesus said] In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Question: Why did Creator God want a family and children?

Answer: God desired an eternal family to enjoy. God desires to have deep, abiding and close relationships with all members of His family.

Truth: What is the chief end of mankind? To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

God who is perfect and complete in every way needs nothing. God desired, for His own joy, to expand the love shared between Father / Son / Holy Spirit to other beings so the perfect love which existed between the members of the Godhead could be experienced and enjoyed by an innumerable number of people. The love of each family member ADDS greatly to the love already in existence between God: Father / Son / Holy Spirit.

Please think very reverentially about the following truth: God made an innumerable number of created beings from the highest order of supernaturally equipped angels and mighty creatures to the lowest single cell amoeba invisible to the eye of man.

Question: How many of these innumerable creatures are we told were created “in the image of God”?

Answer: Only ONE = Man!

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

God created Man to be His highest order of creation, made in His image, for the expressed purpose of having intimate fellowship and relationship with them. To have fellowship together, God determined His human creation would be created in “God’s image” and given the ability not only to know God unlike any other creature, but also have a true, unbroken eternal fellowship with Himself.

The Most Important Question for any Person: Are you a child of God and a member of His eternal family? Is Creator God your heavenly Father?

There are hundreds of references throughout the Bible which declare God’s purpose in creating men and women is to have fellowship with Him in perfect love, joy and peace. The children of God have the incomprehensible privilege of calling Him Father.

Some of our most beloved references would include the following:

  • Matthew 6:8 For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
  • Matthew 6:25-26 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
  • Matthew 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
  • Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
  • Matthew 10:28-30 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
  • Matthew 11:27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
  • Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
  • Matthew 18:13-15 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
  • John 6:37-38 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
  • John 14:19-21 Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
  • John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

As you can plainly see, God determined and wants a family to share His love for all eternity.

Easily one of the most important truths about God is clearly proclaimed by Jesus, God the Son:

– John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Dear Friend, the most important question for you, for me and all people is simply: God loves all of us so much that Jesus, God the Son, died to make the way for us to be reconciled back to Holy God, our Father in heaven. Are you a child of God and a brother of Jesus Christ?

Love must be voluntary. God will NOT force anyone to become His child. But, entrance into God’s family must come solely through God’s terms and appropriated by faith in Jesus Christ as God’s only begotten Son.

The question facing you today: Have you personally believed, trusted and surrendered your life to Jesus Christ thus appropriating for yourself the right to become a child of God?

The above question is critical. It is summed up in all its incredible beauty and priceless treasure described in Romans.

– Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

As adopted children into God’s family, we are given the very Spirit of Christ and we become joint heirs of the entire universe. When the universe is created once again in beautiful perfection as it was before Adam’s sin infected it, and condemned it to destruction, the children of God will be joint heirs with Jesus Christ of that new perfect universe.

For you and me the following truths may be the most important ones our hearts can settle today:

  • John 3:14-18 even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world [you + me] that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  • John 1:11-13 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Have you believed, trusted and surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, the One who created you and purchased you back from eternal separation from the Father? Will you spend eternity in heaven with Jesus because you received Him in your lifetime on earth?

If you have done so, then you are our brother and sister forever. If so, we look forward to seeing you in heaven as part of God’s eternal family!

If you have NOT believed and surrendered your life, do not waste even a single moment to secure your relationship with the heavenly Father as His child.

If you are a child of our heavenly Father, as you have a moment, we would be so pleased if you would write back and confirm such a change has occurred.

We prayed for you as we composed this answer. If you would like us to continue to pray for you, please note that in your reply.
