God, our Creator, declared such relationships to be wrong in His inspired words, the Bible, for the good of all humanity, both for the individual and the entire world population.
It might be best if we attempted to answer this deeply emotion-filled question by building upon very simple truths as the foundation for the complete answer.
We would all agree that any complex organism or mechanical structure needs, first and foremost, a designer to take the concept from “a thought” to an actual workable model. The designer of a product is the one person most familiar with his created work and knows not only its Potential but also what Conditions will allow his creation to work in an optimal fashion.
God, through the work of God the Son, created this universe, world and all its inhabitants. God, the Perfect Creator, knows exactly what is best for all of His creation.
Example: When God created the Earth, Sun and Moon, he set them in a precise order, creating The Law of Gravity, which operates to hold them in place. HONESTLY and CAREFULLY THINK ABOUT THIS GREAT TRUTH: What would happen if God did NOT put into place carefully prescribed ORDER of the Gravity to keep the Earth and its inhabitants from burning to a crisp or freezing? The word you are looking for is a simple one: CHAOS, which leads to destruction!
Can you imagine an Omnipotent, Holy, Perfectly Loving Creator God, NOT PUTTING a precise order in His Spiritual Laws to govern human relationships? God so ordered the Law of Love to include the fact that His human creation does NOT slide into CHAOS and DESTRUCTION.
Simply restated: The Law of Love is a supernatural SAFEGUARD for the well-being and expansion of the population of earth. This was his first command: “Be fruitful and multiply.”
If we disobey that command, all humanity will suffer CHAOS, just as certain as if the Sun was moved a small fraction out of its commanded orbit.
- Genesis 1:1-31 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. . . etc . . Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Included in that creation was the creation of the 1st man and woman.
- Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply”
As the Perfect Designer, God knows what is the very best for His creation, including mankind whom He made most like Himself and gave each one an Eternal Soul. Every individual person born is eternal and will spend all eternity in either Heaven or Hell.
- Genesis 2:18-24 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said:“This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
The first important building block of our answer is simply: Our Creator perfectly designed and perfectly knows what is best for His created mankind for the highest and best good now and for all eternity. In God’s original “design construction notes” He declares this command: “Be fruitful and multiply!”
Truth No. 1: Anyone who contradicts God the Designer’s commands is in error and they sin in their rebellion against His commands. Homosexuals or Lesbians cannot obey the first command given to Adam + Eve, “Be fruitful and multiply.” For the homosexual or lesbian community to grow it must recruit for they cannot naturally produce offspring in their own combined likeness.
Jesus, God the Son, was the agent of the Godhead who accomplished this perfect Design and Construction of man + woman and perfectly knows what it takes to fulfill the highest and best good of His creation.
Jesus in His earthly ministry affirmed this truth:
- Matthew 19:4-6 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
- Romans 1:21-27 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed [upon new birth as one who loves and follows Christ], but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
- Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
Truth No. 2: Homosexual and lesbian behavior is sin, but they are NOT UNFORGIVABLE SINS. There is only sin which is unforgivable and unpardonable. The unpardonable sin is to die NOT BELIEVING AND TRUSTING IN JESUS CHRIST as one’s Savior who died to pay the death penalty required for all sins for those who trust in Him.
- Matthew 12:31 [Jesus said] “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit [a person does this by declaring that the Holy Spirit is NOT TRUE when He declares Jesus to be the Son of God who died to take away the sins of the world] will not be forgiven men.”
- John 3:14-21 [Jesus said] even so must the Son of Man be lifted up [executed by crucifixion], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
