Answer:

Dear Friend, you ask a good two part question. Like all good questions, there is a correct answer. But, every good answer is only good, if it is TRUE, and, if it is able to be received and accepted by the questioner.

We will assume that you clearly understand what SIN truly is?! Sin is any and all violations of the Holy Perfect Law of Love established by our Creator. What is this Holy Perfect Law of Love or Royal Law?

God the Son, Jesus Christ, summarized the Royal Perfect Law of Love: Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “

FIRST THE BAD NEWS – Your Question Part 1: Why should one struggle on earth in their life span?

When I look honestly at the Perfect Law of Love, I must admit that I have broken and continue to break that Royal Law. I am GUILTY! If you are honest you will also come to the same conclusion about yourself.

Yes, it is indisputable! You and I are GUILTY! This question now arises, What are we going to do about our guilt? Once we have violated ANY law, it is a fixed past event and it cannot be changed. There is no way we can UNDO a past event. ONE THING remains in the chain of events set up by any person breaking the law: The carrying out of Punishment required for the broken law.

All human beings are born into this world as self-centered creatures determined to “get everything their way” by being able to choose to do whatever we wish to do and do so in the exact timing we prefer. Thus, we CONSTANTLY put our own wants and will above God’s commands and above the welfare of our neighbors. Romans 3:10-11,18, 23 declares the true condition of all mankind since birth.

Romans 3:10-11 – “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.” [v18] “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” [v23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

All lawbreakers understand that there is a penalty, a cost, which must be paid when caught and sentenced under a just Judge.

When Adam and Eve first became Lawbreakers in the Garden of Eden, they knew the rightful penalty had to be death.

Thus, not only did Adam and Eve die, but they passed along the “death virus” of SIN to all their offspring. That is why ALL people are born into this world with a fixed desire to SIN, to break God’s Royal Law just as did Adam and Eve.

To further explain the tragedy of SIN, God explained that the “sin virus” would also bring untold pain to humanity prior to their death. Genesis 3:16-19 tells us that this pain would fall under three categories: 1.) Relationship Pain. 2.) Economic Pain. 3.) Health pain, eventually leading to death.

You and I were born into this world as Job described: – Yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward. Job 5:7

NOW THE GOOD NEWS: Your Question – Part 2: . . and enjoy a struggle-free life only in eternity?

God determined to reconcile and redeem back to Himself some of His “lawbreaking” creation. To this He would need to act in PERFECT JUSTICE and in PERFECT LOVE & MERCY.

God determined He would pay the rightful DEATH PENALTY HIMSELF which rightfully should have been paid by the Lawbreakers. This was accomplished by taking their place and dying for ALL who would believe and trust in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. To these people, God would forgive their sins AND ALSO impute the righteousness of His perfect Son to them. Jesus’ perfect righteousness would become their perfect righteousness upon man’s physical death.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him [Jesus] we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

John 3:14-18 . . even so must the Son of Man be lifted up [death by crucifixion], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Credited with Christ’s Righteousness: – 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him [Jesus]. ETERNAL JOY: Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
